1. Data Controller

For the purposes of data protection regulations, the data controller of this application is TalosTic.

2. Data We Collect

We only collect personal and telemetry data necessary to optimize and display your smart home energy system performance:

• Account Information: Email address, username, password hash.
• Hardware Integration Credentials: API keys, cloud usernames, and passwords for connected inverters (FoxESS) and chargers (Zaptec, Hypervolt). All passwords and API keys are stored encrypted at rest using AES-256-GCM.
• Hardware Telemetry: Real-time and historical power flows (Solar Generation, Battery State of Charge, Grid Import/Export, and Load in Watts).
• Tariff Data: Active Octopus Energy account numbers, contract rates, and smart charging slot schedules.

3. How We Use Your Data

We process your data strictly to:

• Generate automated charging/discharging events via Google Cloud Tasks.
• Populate your Dashboard charts, Savings Page, and Timeline.
• Trigger system health alerts (e.g., API credential expiration).

We never sell, trade, or share your personal data, credentials, or energy telemetry with any third-party marketing companies.

4. Data Retention & Right to Deletion

Data Retention: Telemetry data is retained for up to 3 years to populate historical savings charts.

Right to Erasure (Delete My Data): You have the right to request deletion of all your stored data. Disconnecting a device or deleting your profile will immediately delete all encrypted credentials and permanently purge your historical readings database records.

5. Cookies

We use essential session cookies to keep you securely logged into the dashboard. No tracking or marketing cookies are utilized.
